For high purity of nitrogen application, a catalyst de-oxo unit can be equipped with PSA nitrogen generator to remove the trace amount of oxygen by reacting it with hydrogen over a heated catalyst to form water. The water is then removed by a drier, leaving high purity nitrogen down to 5 ppm or lower.
